Crispy Baked Asparagus

Oven-roasted crispy and juicy asparagus makes for the perfect side dish!

Asparagus has always been my favorite vegetable. It’s so easy to prepare and delicious to eat, I have it for dinner at least twice a week (did I mention it’s a natural anti-bloating food?)

Ingredients (for a party of two):

Half a bunch of asparagus (full bunch if serving 4 people)

2 cloves of garlic

2 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil

1/2 tsp of garlic powder

1/2 tsp of lemon pepper seasoning

Pinch of salt

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and lay aluminum foil onto a baking sheet. Pour 1 tbsp of olive oil onto your sheet and spread thoroughly.

One of the best tips I can give is to always wash your vegetables first, even if they’re organic! Next is to chop off the really hard ends of your asparagus, generally about 1-2 inches off the bottom.

I like to season everything I cook on a separate plate before adding to the oven pan. That way your food won’t get as stuck to the bottom of your pan and your seasoning won’t burn your food!

Season the asparagus with garlic powder, lemon pepper seasoning, and garlic. Toss lightly until mixed. Then add to your baking sheet and pour remaining 1 tbsp of olive oil and add the pinch of salt before placing in the oven.

Cook for 20 minutes and check to see how crispy your asparagus has become. Depending on the thickness of the asparagus I will either add 2-6 minutes extra so that the asparagus will really start to crisp. Once your asparagus is to your desired level of crispy, remove and serve!

Let me know how your asparagus tastes in the comments!
